Neovite, Colostrum

Russell Williams, British Champion

Russell last won a national cycling title in 1996 and at the age of 41 he felt he was no longer a match for the younger racers. This year he decided to try neovite. Russell took 10 grams of neovite daily for the three months leading up to the National Championships and went on to win the title, beating athletes half his age.

Russell felt that neovite helped him to stay in condition to complete the training necessary to win a national title. He had no illness, injury or exhaustion during the training period. “Training and racing is the easy part,” said Russell. “The hardest thing in top sport is to stay healthy and injury-free. Neovite helped me to do just that.”

Athletes in Australia and New Zealand already use colostrum to maintain their conditioning and over 300 tons were sold in the USA last year.

During his cycling career Russell Williams, 41, has won titles at all levels. He now coaches at the Herne Hill track in South London and commentates for the Eurosport TV channel in addition to his own training and racing.

National Derny Championships (motorcycle paced)
Saturday 1st June 2002
Herne Hill Stadium London

Showing that things do indeed get better with age, Eurosport commentator and Herne Hill coach Russell Williams (Geoffrey Butler Cycles) pulled off a spectacular win in the national derny paced championships in front of a partisan home crowd.

Williams' ride was as hot as the weather as he oozed experience leading his heat then sitting back and coming through to qualify for the final.

With Paul Mill of Team Edwards leading for 20 laps and favourite James Taylor making a big effort to get away Williams let his rivals make the race while quietly sitting back and biding his time.

In an event sponsored by Sport & Publicity 41 year old Williams powered away from a field made up of many riders half his age with 6 laps to go, even having the confidence to give his one armed punching salute with a lap to go.

As one by one riders lost their pacers as they fought to stay with Williams, young Martin Freeman (Milton Keynes) put in one of the rides of the day to take his silver medal over defending champion Ray Hughes (Clarence Wheelers).

The Derny championships was originally scheduled for Reading which is still closed due to subsidence and thanks must go to organiser Graham Bristow for coming in and rescuing one of the most exciting national title races there is.
